Theater in the Park – Serve KC Social

Join Serve KC for a fun night out at Shawnee Mission Park’s outdoor Theatre for the play The Music Man. This is not a volunteer event, just a social get-together for our members to enjoy a community event as a group.

Bring your outdoor chairs or blankets, snacks & drinks (or get them at the concession stand) and any games to pass the time until the show starts. You may also want to bring sunscreen, bug spray or a sweater.

Tickets: $8 adults, $6 youth 4-10, free ages 3 & under. Reserved parking in the paved lot is $5 or free unpaved parking. Tickets can purchase online or at the box office on show nights.

Gates open at 7pm on performance nights, 8:30pm curtain time. We will post our group location and have a sign for Serve KC up until the show begins. You can also text Selena at 816-582-7857

## How to find us — We’ll have a lime green shade umbrella up prior to the show with a Serve KC sign. You can also text Selena at 816-582-7857 or check the meetup comments for our location.

Showing July 5-13 is The Music Man

Synopsis: The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall. Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.
