Sort Books for Reach Out & Read (Must lift 40lbs)

Help our friends at Reach Out & Read box & sort just over 24,000 books this SATURDAY, MARCH 25th from 10 am – Noon.

Volunteers must lift & carry 40lbs boxes of books.

Please arrive by 9:55 am. Someone will be at the door letting volunteers in the building and taking small groups to the 3rd floor, where we are sorting books. This is a locked building so if you arrive late CALL Selena at 816-582-7857 and someone will come down to let you in. 

PARKING is on Grand between 17th and 18th Street, as well as the KC Star parking lot on the south-east corner of 18th and McGee.  You will enter the KC Star building at the south-west corner of the building (see MAP – Click to View)

WEAR comfortable clothing & shoes for moving boxes.

Reach Out & Read will have water and a sweet treat for all volunteers. Please sign in and out on the volunteer sheet. 

Reach Out and Read Kansas City is a nonprofit program in partnership with the Kansas University Endowment at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a member of the national Reach Out and Read Program

Each year, Reach Out and Read Kansas City provides approximately 76,500 new, culturally and developmentally appropriate books to almost 30,000 low income children, birth to age 5, during well-child visits at our partner clinic sites, building a 15-book library for each child before he or she enters kindergarten.
