Ronald McDonald Campus House Work Day – MEET AT LONGFELLOW HOUSE

General chores and special projects, we won’t find out exactly what they need us to do until we get there.

Please dress comfortably and be prepared to get dirty!

Possible projects/chores:
General chores around the House (cleaning, laundry, deep cleaning guest rooms, organizing closets and storage areas)
Special projects (landscaping, hanging shelves, moving furniture, mailings)
Sanitizing toys and surfaces
Stocking the pantry (dating donations, placing them on shelves)
Assisting with pop tabs
Baking treats/snacks
Watering plants
Taking out the recycling
Gardening/Yard Beautification

Volunteers can park in the parking lot adjacent to the Longfellow house or on the street.  Enter the Longfellow (large) house by ringing the bell.  The group will receive assignments there.  ***The group may be split between the three houses or all volunteers working in one house together***

Feel free to call/text me 816-916-9057 if you have questions or get lost.

The Ronald McDonald Houses are a “Home Away From Home” for thousands of  families every year who must travel to the Kansas City area to receive medical  treatment for a sick or injured child. Together, the two Ronald McDonald Houses (Cherry Street House & Longfellow House) provide temporary lodging to as many as 60 families each night while their children undergo vital medical care.  The family Suites inside our Wylie House, allow us to serve immuno-suppressed children and their families (i.e. organ transplants and bone marrow  transplants). The Houses offer a warm and welcoming place to sleep, as well as full kitchen facilities, laundry facilities, living rooms and recreation areas
to provide a homey environment where families may relax away from the stresses of the hospital and meet other families experiencing similar crises.
