Providence YMCA Community Garden Refresh Day

The Providence YMCA Community Garden had a busy year of producing everything from radishes to pumpkins for the community to enjoy. The garden has finally ended its growing season and is in need of some serious TLC to prepare the gardens for next year’s vegetables. Volunteers are needed to help harvest the last of the vegetables to give to the community as well as clean out the 8 raised beds and do some maintenance to the garden area.

This is an outdoor event so volunteers will need to dress for the weather. Volunteers will also need to wear closed toe shoes and clothing they don’t mind getting a little dirty. Volunteers will be provided with gloves and water while they are working.

There are some gardening tools available, but it would be a help if volunteers could bring a few of their own tools to share while working. The Y recommends that all tools are visibly labeled with your name prior to bringing them in the garden area.

Parking is available in the Providence YMCA parking lot in front of the building.

If there is a chance of bad weather, volunteers will be notified the evening before whether or not the clean up will be canceled.
