Help in the Uplift Garden

Each time you come to the Uplift garden please bring garden gloves and your own water to drink. As the garden grows, the jobs we will be doing will change each time. June 17 we will be helping to put the weed block paper and hay down as well as helping to put the cages around the tomato plants.

Uplift (http://www.uplift.org/)is a homeless outreach program run entirely by volunteers since 1990. They deliver meals three times a week to around 300 people along with clothing and other necessities.

Serve KC volunteers will help work on the garden in Belton that provides food for the homeless. We’ll be putting paper down, pulling weeds and repainting the sign for the garden. Please bring garden gloves, bug spray and bottled water.

All ages welcome with adult supervision for those under 18.

Directions: Take US-71 S / I-49 S to the Belton/Raymore MO-58 E highway exit. Go east on MO-58 to Kentucky Rd., then take a left to head North. You’ll pass a red barn and the garden is on your right. Please do not park in the driveway(s)s of the next door home(s). Feel free to park on the street in front of the garden or grass areas next to the garden.
