Serve KC COVID-19 Response

Dear Volunteers,

As you are likely aware, the City of Kansas City along with several KC Metro County authorities have issued a minimum 30 day “Stay at Home” order that went into effect March 24th.  Our civic duty at this time is to obey this order to help contain the spread of the Coronavirus and COVID-19 in our communities.  To support this order the Serve KC Steering Committee has decided to cancel ALL Serve KC Meetup events currently scheduled until the Stay at Home order is lifted.  The health and safety of our volunteers and our community is our top priority.  We will continue to monitor and assess the situation and will resume Serve KC activities once our local authorities and the nonprofits we serve allow us to do so.

Most importantly, the Serve KC Steering Committee is urging all volunteers to follow the common sense advice offered by health professionals and to take the measures you feel necessary to stay safe.

For doctors who will be fighting this pandemic from their homes, we recommend you to use medical billing to have everything accurate and up to date.

We understand that for many of us volunteering is our way to show how much we care and our way of doing our part to help.  When considering other volunteer activities at home please check the CDC guidelines first. We also understand that this pandemic and the impact it is having on our daily lives can be very stressful for many in our community.  The CDC has also provided guidelines for those dealing with stress and anxietyduring this time.  While our social interactions may be limited we can still Serve Kansas City by spreading kindness, encouragement, and hope to others.  So let’s do our part in the fight against COVID-19 by staying at home and spreading kindness instead of the virus.  Stay safe Serve KC!

Thank you,

Serve KC Steering Committee
